AI Conference in Riyadh Reveals Impressive Metrics Strengthening Saudi Arabia’s Tech Position

Riyadh — September 2, 2025
In a prominent event that reflects Saudi Arabia’s growing standing as a regional and global center for digital innovation, the AI Industry Conference and Its Impact on Digital Transformation convened in Riyadh, bringing together an elite group of experts and decision-makers. The gathering revealed notable indicators confirming the Kingdom’s accelerating investment in artificial intelligence.
The conference examined plans to build the largest AI computing center in the Kingdom, with technologies capable of processing millions of tokens per second — enabling broad, practical applications in health, energy, security, transportation, and smart cities. Also discussed were computer vision solutions including crowd management, border monitoring, airport and port operations, and analytics, in addition to text-to-speech and speech-to-text services in both Arabic and English, leveraging advanced models like Llama, DeepSeek, and GPT-OSS.
Participants emphasized that over two million developers worldwide are working on AI platforms, illustrating the global scale of adoption of these technologies.
In this context, a Saudi-American strategic partnership was announced between Master Works and Groq, aiming to accelerate the adoption of advanced AI technologies and bolster the capabilities of government and private institutions to improve efficiency and achieve higher levels of innovation — in a move reflecting the Kingdom’s commitment to realizing the goals of Vision 2030 in building a sophisticated digital economy.
Groq® LPU™ is described as a comprehensive hardware-and-software platform delivering exceptional speed in processing AI applications with high quality and energy efficiency. The company is headquartered in Silicon Valley, United States, designing and manufacturing its LPU unit and associated systems in North America, which gives it an edge in reliability and technological sovereignty.
Fahad Al-Turaif, VP & GM of Groq Middle East & North Africa, said:
“Today we expand our operations, and tomorrow we redefine the future of AI from the heart of the Kingdom. Saudi Arabia does not simply participate in this sector, but moves forward confidently to lead it regionally and globally, and we are proud to be part of this ambitious journey.”
Eng. Mohammed Own, CEO of Master Works, said:
“Signing this strategic partnership reflects our ongoing commitment to support the Kingdom’s digital transformation journey, leveraging our capabilities and over 12 years of experience in developing innovative solutions in AI, cybersecurity, and data management. We at Master Works believe this step will accelerate the nation’s path toward a fully integrated digital economy and strengthen its position as a global hub for digital innovation, in line with the goals of Vision 2030.”
Participants confirmed that this move represents a model of Saudi-American collaboration in future tech fields, reflecting the depth of Saudi Arabia’s international partnerships, and placing Riyadh among nations capable of shaping the contours of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
